Presentation: "The mobile browser as a platform"

Track: Browser as a platform / Time: Monday 14:30 - 15:20 / Location: Store Sal, Musikhuset

Many big mobile webapps are being developed for the browser. Yahoo!, Google+, Gmail, Bing and other big services use only the browser to create full application experiences for mobile devices. What are the big challenges? How can we create a UI that feels like an app, works offline and delivers a really fast experience to the user? What about compatibility between platforms? How can we detect user's context?

In this session we are covering techniques to create big applications for mobile browsers, how HTML5 can help us providing the right experience to the right context and what is WPO -Web Performance Optimization- for mobile devices. And as a plus, most techniques will also work on modern desktop browsers.
