Lead developer Joe Duffy, Microsoft

Lead developer Joe  Duffy Joe Duffy is lead developer and architect for Parallel Extensions to .NET at Microsoft, where he leads its design, hacks code, and tinkers with longer-lead efforts like static type system support for deterministic, parallel programming. His second book, Concurrent Programming on Windows (Addison-Wesley), was just released in late 2008, and he is now hard at work on his next one, Notation and Thought: A Brief History of Programming Languages. He writes frequently on his blog at http://www.bluebytesoftware.com/blog/, and enjoys playing guitar, writing music, and studying music theory in his spare time.
