Lead developer Joe Duffy, Microsoft
Joe Duffy is lead developer and architect for Parallel Extensions to .NET at Microsoft, where he leads its design, hacks code, and tinkers with longer-lead efforts like static type system support for deterministic, parallel programming. His second book, Concurrent Programming on Windows (Addison-Wesley), was just released in late 2008, and he is now hard at work on his next one, Notation and Thought: A Brief History of Programming Languages. He writes frequently on his blog at http://www.bluebytesoftware.com/blog/, and enjoys playing guitar, writing music, and studying music theory in his spare time.
