Abstract

With the release of iOS7 iBeacons became an instant buzzword for location based services and apps. However, as iBeacons are based on the Bluetooth 4.0 stack they aren't restricted to Apples platform and work equally well on other mobile platforms like Android.

This talk will give an introduction to iBeacons on Android: What can they be used for, what are the limitations and most importantly how can we implement them in our apps.

There will be demos and code.

Intended audience: Developers and Architects. Knowledge about the Android platform is preferred, but not required
