Docker Orchestration: Step-by-Step

Host: Mark Coleman

When: 20. Jan 2015 at 17:00 - 19:00

Where: Trifork A/S, Borgergade 24 (1. sal), 1300 København K.

Abstract

Abstract
Docker is only really interesting when you do interesting things with it, and that invariably means using two of more containers at the same time. The area of container orchestration is therefore receiving a lot of attention right now with a new open source tool popping up every week. With this influx of enthusiastic keyboard bashing comes confusion. What actually is orchestration? What is service discovery? How can we compare tools against each other and against our needs?

In this talk, we will start with simple orchestration and build up towards more complex examples. As we progress, I will explain the various techniques and classifications of tools being used. My goal is that you will leave with a better understanding of the topic, and a better vocabulary with which to discuss it.
