Abstract

Abstract
There's always a trade off between speed and safety while programming. Languages like C tend to be ultra fast but are prone to crashes, while on the other spectrum languages like Python are really slow but extremely safe..
Rust gives you the best of both worlds, an LLVM compiled language (as fast as C) which completely eliminates segmentation faults, data races across threads and low level control when needed. We will look at the basics of Rust and it's way of handling memory, a core concept required to use the language.

The talk assumes basic understanding of pointers and absolute zero knowledge of Rust.

Bio
Catalin Balan is a student passionate about new technologies and techniques. He has been programming since the age of 10 and explored a wide variety of programming languages, techniques and optimization practices.
