Arthur van Hoff
Arthur van Hoff, Chief Technology Officer and Co-founder Arthur van Hoff is Chief Technical Officer and Co-founder for Marimba, Inc.- a recognized leader in application distribution and management (ADM) solutions. As Marimba's CTO, Mr. van Hoff is responsible for all technical aspects of the company's product vision. Prior to co-founding Marimba, he was a Senior Staff Engineer at JavaSoft until early 1996. During his tenure at JavaSoft, Mr. van Hoff authored the Java compiler, the beta version of the HotJava browser, and helped design much of the Java language and the Java applet APIs. Mr. van Hoff earned his M.S. in Computer Science from Strathclyde University in Glasgow. A noted speaker and author, he has won several awards for his contributions to the creation of Java, including PC Magazine's award for Technical Excellence. In late 1997, Mr. van Hoff was honored by Interactive Week as one of the Top 25 Unsung Heroes of the Internet.
