Antero Taivalsaari, Sun Microsystems
Dr. Antero Taivalsaari is an Engineering Manager at Sun Microsystems, Java Software Division, in Cupertino, California. He wrote the original K Virtual Machine (KVM) implementation at Sun Labs, and has played a central role in the product and standardization efforts related to Java 2 Micro Edition (J2ME). He's a coauthor of the first official Java Series book on J2ME, published recently by Addison-Wesley: www.amazon.com.
Before joining Sun in 1997, Antero worked at Nokia and held various academic research positions in Finland and Canada. Antero has a doctoral degree in computer science from the University of Jyvaskyla, Finland, and he has been working on object-oriented languages, systems and applications for the past 15 years.
