Building the Largest Network of Charge Points for Electric Cars with Scala & Akka / 10:40 - 10:55

In 2009, "The New Motion" started a movement that allowed people to travel with renewable energy. Today we have the largest European network of charge points for electric cars. With a team of 15 people we built our own infrastructure for connected devices. At the moment, approx. 15000 charge points are connected to our own back office, mostly via the mobile network.

In this talk, I will show you how we built our back office based on Scala and Akka. I also showcase how the charge points are connected, how we handle the async, long-lived connections and which data is gathered.
