Biography: Joseph Wilk

Joseph Wilk is an engineer at SoundCloud helping shape the future of sound on the internet. He has a wealth of experience working in startups helping grow projects and deconstructing monolithic apps. He is a major contributor to many open source projects in many programming languages and has helped write such influential tools as Cucumber. He has spoken at over 40 conferences all over the world about growing startups, artificial intelligence & testing at scale to name a few.

Over the last year Joseph has been introducing Clojure into SoundCloud. Over this time we have been refining the blue-print for services functioning under high load with a strong focus on fault tolerance. We will explore how we use Clojure at SoundCloud, the power of focusing around the JVM and real examples where Clojure fit and where it failed.
