With Microsoft's Silverlight technology it's possible to rapidly design and develop Apps based on the .NET framework for the all new Windows Phone. Based on practical experience in architecting and developing some of the early showcase apps this code heavy talk will provide a real world deep dive into core software design concepts and patterns like Model-View-ViewModel (MVVM) and demo many topics involved in the application development process including databinding, navigation, tombstoning, databases, localization and unit tests.

Biography: Philip Bauknecht

Philipp Bauknecht, CEO of medialesson GmbH, is an expert of Microsoft .NET focusing on the User Interface using Windows Phone 7, Silverlight and WPF. He helps companies to build rich user experiences as a consultant, developer and trainer.

Since 2008, Philipp conveys his Silverlight and user experience know-how as a trainer for Microsoft, as a writer of numerous training clips and webcasts and as a speaker at numerous developer and designer conferences. Furthermore he teaches interface design at the University of Applied Sciences Pforzheim.

Because of his ability to unify design and technique, Philipp received the award “100 young creative talents“ by the European Union and the Committee of the Regions. Philipp is one of the founding members of the network EF.EU – European Forum for Enhanced Usability, established in 2009.
