Presentation: Applying Quantitative Analysis to Large-Scale Operations

Track: DevOps & Continuous Delivery / Time: Friday 13:20 - 14:10 / Location: Hall 2

Imagine you have some systems. In those systems you have some disks. On those systems you run services: databases, web services, API services, etc. Every operation from an API request, to a database query to a disk IO operation has a latency. In a small architecture, these individual latency measurements can reach millions per second; in a large architecture: billions.

What if you could measure them all, collect them all, and store them all? What would math look like to turn this sea of data into actionable information. This is what monitoring in the future looks like.
