Presentation: "Achieving a Dominant Position in Mobile Payments"

Track: Disruption / Time: Friday 11:30 - 12:20 / Location: Administratiezaal

In May 2013 Danske Bank released a Mobile Payment solution for Android, iPhone and Windows Phone in Denmark. It was the first of its kind, and quickly caught a momentum in the market, leaving little room for competitors, a situation that has remained so, until this day.

This presentation will tell the story of bringing a disruptive solution into the market, what have been the learning points and considerations. It will explain what it takes for a big, traditionally slow-moving, organization to be able to foster agile development with a moving target and a questionable business case.

Being in a situation where we have caught lightning in a bottle, I will discuss how to move on from here, and how the disrupter can seek to avoid becoming the disrupted.
