- Regarding history, George Santayana once said, “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” This statement is too negative. History has positive experiences too. They are the ones we would like both to remember and to repeat. The tracks' idea is to remember the good, the bad and the ugly by letting decade-long experts in programming languages, distributed systems, databases and software engineering talk about the developments, renaissance(s), 'things, which never really changed' and/or 'things which are still unsolved' in their field.
