Software Craftmanship / Teaching Software Development

Host
Michael Hunger
Track abstract
The perception of software development changed from the traditional software engineering to more customer oriented approaches that also place high value on mastering the craft and continously honing one's skills. One of the goals of software craftsmanship is lifelong learning and using different techniques to support it. So teaching and the discussion about the applicability of todays CS courses to real-world software development ties in with this. Two important recent facets of learning are teaching programming to kids and online courses.
