Cloud Application Architecture

Host
Adrian Cockcroft
Track abstract
Whereas many cloud deployments consist of moving existing datacenter oriented applications to run on private or public cloud, there is a new breed of applications that have been written from scratch to be highly available and scalable when running on cloud. Some of the common characteristics include fine grain stateless service oriented architecture, NoSQL based data stores, and the use of "chaos monkey" mechanisms to "test to fail" in production. We will start with an overview of the generic cloud application architecture, then look at some real world examples that are running at scale.
