Track abstract
Over the last few years, many developers have come to see Java development as verbose, painful and at times inflexible. However, Java is also the most widely used programming language in the world today, and there's a good chance that if you are a software developer you've used it at some point in your career. Some of the criticisms of Java have been justified, and the Java community has figured out many different approaches to handle these issues. The goal of this track is to give attendees a deeper understanding of these approaches through a combination of two things: concrete takeaways which can be used immediately in your codebase, and a broader insight into the trends that will shape Java development over the next 5 years.
