Emerging Interfaces

Dan Roden
Track abstract
With the explosion in touch based interfaces driven by smartphones and tablets, gesture control via devices like Microsoft Kinect, inexpensive hackable hardware and the growth of the maker culture, we are seeing many new possibilities for interface creation enabled by this new generation of technology.

The challenge for developers, designers and architects is how we embrace these opportunities to build applications that can enhance creativity, engagement, learning and enjoyment both now and in the future.

This track will contain talks on emerging interface design, case studies from implementations, development and usability guidance and live demonstrations of these concepts in practice.
