JS as a Platform

Host
Erik Dörnenburg
Track abstract
JavaScript has come a long way since its creation in 1995 as a browser scripting language. New virtual machines have vastly improved performance and now JavaScript has left the browser behind to emerge as a development platform. In Node.js we have a JavaScript server, MongoDB uses JavaScript in the context of a distributed database, QML and Calatrava employ JavaScript for cross-platform mobile development. The list goes on. This track showcases the JavaScript platform for programming beyond the DOM.
