Battle-hardened HTML5
- Host
- Gary Scott Harvey
- Track abstract
- Despite being still a standard that is work in progress, we already see HTML5 in production without knowing it. Many of the practical challenges of HTML5 are not covered by standards, but discovered and solved by the individuals that construct the services. For example, naive implementations may assume the latest browser APIs whereas the actual browsers may date 10 years back or be robots instead of humans, or the actual connection is done over a distorted GSM data connection. This track focuses on practical challenges of running HTML5 in production and handling the ecosystem diversity. Each presentation focuses on a certain problem area, giving practical solutions to the problem.
