Lean IT Enterprise

Host
Gene Kim
Track abstract
This track focuses on the new models needed to properly manage the IT value stream from Dev into IT Operations. This expands upon Donald Reinertsen’s pioneering work in “The Principles Of Product Development Flow,” but integrates the significantly more numerous value streams that exist in IT Operations (e.g., incidents, service requests, multiple deployment streams, etc). In order to build reliable schedules and manage flow, these must be integrated. We propose how using manufacturing plant floor metaphors of bill of resources, work centers, and production schedules can maximize flow of multiple DevOps flows of work, often constrained by deployment, testing, and ideally, the business.
